Welcome!

I am Anne, a Level 2 Yoga teacher who is also an Artist and an art educator. My classes can be quite playful and creative but they are always firmly rooted in the IYENGAR method ensuring each class will be structured, safe and progressive.

As an experienced Level 2 Iyengar yoga teacher I can also offer you more progression and challenge.

All my classes are designed to meet you where you are, and I can effectively adapt each session to suit each individual. You will leave with a new understanding and connection.

What is Iyengar Yoga?

Iyengar Yoga is authentic Indian yoga and is based on the sutras of Patanjali. The method was named after B.K.S Iyengar who visited the UK in the 1960s bringing yoga to the Western world. Iyengar Yoga places emphasis initially on the third limb of yoga, Asana. You learn precision, proper alignment and correct actions in Asana. This practice prepares the body and the mind for breath control (Pranayama) and leads the practitioner towards the other limbs of Yoga.

This method is safe, and with regular practice it is excellent for building strength and flexibility in the body.

Iyengar yoga is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Certified Iyengar Yoga teachers are thoroughly trained and can effectively adapt the practice for each individual.

Health benefits of Iyengar yoga?

By working to achieve proper alignment and action in each pose, students can learn to create balance in the body and mind. In addition to helping students gain flexibility, balance, and strength, Iyengar yoga can be useful in the management of certain health conditions like chronic low back pain.
